Hear our Voices

We listen to seniors’ stories, ideas, concerns, and hard-earned wisdom—and help those voices carry farther across Portland.

We carry the wisdom forward and connect generations.

The original vision asks Portland to recognize seniors as an economic, political, and social force. Through interviews, storytelling, gatherings, and public conversation, we make room for lived experience to shape community priorities and inspire people of every generation.

How this work takes shape

Create welcoming ways for seniors to speak honestly about what is working, what is difficult, and what they hope to change.

Share Real Stories

Develop interviews and media that celebrate resilience, creativity, contribution, and the realities of aging.

Carry Wisdom Forward

Bring senior perspectives into neighborhood conversations, partnerships, public decisions, and future planning.

Mission Possible

Seniors Voice PDX Media Campaign

The Golden Eagle Messengers are launching a media campaign to raise awareness about the challenges seniors face as they navigate a rapidly changing world. At the heart of this effort is our commitment to Give Seniors A Voice—to ensure their stories, wisdom, and vulnerabilities are seen, heard, and honored.

Our video team is interviewing seniors willing to share experiences of resilience, insight, and the realities of aging that too often go unheard. Together, we will share these stories with the media and the world to educate, inspire, and spark collective action.
