Meet People Where They Are
Create easy, familiar ways to participate through neighborhood gatherings, local events, and person-to-person outreach.

Focus area · Belonging begins close to home
We strengthen the local relationships that help seniors stay connected, visible, supported, and involved in the places they call home.
Senior Voices PDX believes citywide change grows from local trust. We connect residents, neighborhood associations, community hubs, and partners such as Community for Positive Aging so small acts of welcome and cooperation can grow into lasting belonging.
How this work takes shape
Create easy, familiar ways to participate through neighborhood gatherings, local events, and person-to-person outreach.
Support the community centers, associations, libraries, faith communities, and informal networks seniors already know.
Invite neighbors of all ages to learn from one another through service, storytelling, arts, and shared civic projects.
Connect where you live
Portland has 94 City-recognized neighborhood associations, each serving a defined geographic neighborhood. They give residents an organized way to participate in civic affairs, identify local needs, and work together to improve the livability and character of their neighborhoods and the city.
Neighborhood associations are Oregon nonprofit organizations with their own articles, bylaws, and governance structures. Recognized associations appear in the City’s public neighborhood directory and on PortlandMaps, receive notices about planning, policy, safety, livability, and economic-vitality decisions affecting their boundaries, and receive communications, training, and technical support through Portland’s neighborhood system.
Portland’s neighborhoods are organized into four districts, each supported by a nonprofit district coalition office. These offices help neighborhood associations communicate, organize, learn, and connect with City processes.
Open PortlandMaps, enter your street address, and select the neighborhood name shown with the property information.
